Automated log file retrieval

Urchin from Google is able to retrieve log files from different servers. However, for the Urchin user, the operation is not always easy to understand. In addition, Urchin is limited to only a few transmission protocols.

Encrypted transfer of data to automatically compress and store received files, as well as dedicated access to a particular file for revision, simplifies administration. For that reason, webalytics developed a sophisticated, clear and transparent log file retrieval system and integrated it into the Urchin Appliance.

  • Automated retrieval of log files possible with various protocols:
  • SSH, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, UNC, SMB
  • Clear, comprehensible directory structure for storing log files
  • Simple and unified nomenclature makes later identification easier for
  • subsequent procesing
  • Files that have already been transferred are named in a list
  • Automatic selection of the best possible data compression for files
